The most active part of the creation of “Youth Consultative Body” is starting in February. Its main purpose is to facilitate the work of the State Agency for Youth and Sports in the development of youth policies in Bulgaria. The idea for creating YCB became reality after the National Debate “The Structured Dialog and Young People of Bulgaria”, organized in June 2008, by Youth Society for Peace and Development on the Balkans and the Municipality of Varna, with support from “Youth in Action” Programme.During the Debate over 200 participants agreed on the idea of creating a structure of youth organizations who will work in close collaboration with the state institutions in order to take part in the decision making process concerning youth people in Bulgaria. SAYS welcomed the idea and gave the financial support for organizing the elections for YCB. The meetings will take place in February, see the list below:

After the elections for regional representatives there will be elections for representatives from national youth political parties, national youth organizations and international youth organizations.
The total noumber of representatives in the YCB is 48 – 6 from each region of the country and 12 people from political and national youth organizations including members of international youth NGOs. After the elections for all YCB members will be carried out special trainings and will be defined the main goals and methods of approach of the new structure.
