National debate “The structured dialog and young people of Bulgaria”

The youth organizations in Bulgaria joined hands for the foundation of national Consultative body that will work actively with the State agency of youth and sports on the young people’s problems.

Over 200 representatives of youth organizations debated the necessity and the ways of conducting active and successful structured dialogue in the youth policy development. The organizations agreed on the necessity that they should be an active participant in the decision-making process, concerning the needs of the Bulgarian young people. Having in mind the lack of youth representation and sustainable and regulated form of youth participation in the policy development, the organizations decided that there should be established national consultative groups, working in close cooperation with the institutions.
The participants appealed for faster passing of the Law for development of the youth and the implementation of the youth policy on national level.

Official guests of the debate were Mrs. Vesela Lecheva - chair of the State agency of youth and sports, Mr. Kiril Yordanov - mayor of the City of Varna, Mr. Mihail Balabanov – vice chair of the State agency of youth and sports and Mrs. JuttaKoenig-Georgiades - “Education and Culture” DG.

The National debate “The structured dialog and young people of Bulgaria” is a joint initiative of Youth society for peace and development of the Balkans and Varna Municipality. The project is being realized in partnership between the State agency of youth and sports, Bulgarian gender research foundation and Young Europeans for Security and with the financial support of the Youth in action programme.
