EQUAL, BUT NOT IDENTICAL

National Student Association “Paisiy Hilendarski” organized and implemented multilateral youth exchange in the period 24-30 November 2007 in Mineralni bani, Haskovo district. The project “Equal but not identical” was focused on the idea of cultural diversity. Its main aim is to promote the cultural diversity and the intercultural learning among the young people in Europe. The participants in the exchange had the opportunity to discuss and apprehend the basic European values and principles - equal opportunities for all, human rights and anti discrimination. In a multicultural environment the young people had the chance to express their point of views, experience and to get to know better their coevals and others’ culture.
The actions included in the exchange were consistent with the project theme and aims. They followed the requirements of “Youth in action” programme and the principles of non-formal education as well as the participants’ age and special requirements. The participants were young people from 4 European countries.
During the project and after its implementation volarization activities were undertaken. They aim at optimizing the project outcomes, values and impact on local and global level. The activities were implemented with partner’s support.
The participants represented the following countries and organizations:
- Slovenia - Mladinski Svet Slovenije, Ljubljana;
- Poland - Common Europe, Olsztyn;
- Bulgaria - National Student Association “Paisii Hilendarski”
- Turkey - Nilufer local Agenda 21 Youth Group, Bursa
