BYC Free Training on Getting Active in Your Local Community
April 20, 2007
Dear members,
The British Youth Council is putting a brand new free training course on for young people outside of formal education to engage them in local democracy.
The Electoral Commission research shows that young people outside of formal education are less likely to register to vote, let alone cast their vote. They have funded us to run a series of workshop to inform young people about how democracy works for them
Our next set of training will run on the following dates:
Belfast - 31st May 2007 - Registration for this event closes on the 24th May
Cookstown - 1st June 2007 - Registration for this event closes on the 24th May
Birmingham - 16th June 2007 - Registration for this event closes on the 10th June
Check out our 'On Your Doorstep' Workshops webpage for more information and a booking form. (booking forms also attached)
It would be great if you could promote this free training to any adults you know how work with young people, as well as any young people you work with yourself.
Any questions - please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best wishes
