“W.O.W: with or without competences in youth project” was a training course realised by Sensu Stricto Association (Poland) in the frame of YOUTH Programme. This was a first project of a whole cycle of trainings connected with youth workers’ competences. During this event we focused on creativity.

17 participants – youth workers and youth leaders
8 countries – Bulgaria, Czech Republik, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Poland, Turkey and United Kingdom
3 main aims:
To get the bigger picture of the competences and competency model of youth worker (including the standpoint of the European Commision and the Council of Europe), exchange different points of view of participants and create our own competency model.
- To train the process of achieving and developing competences on the example of creativity.
- To create an international publication about competences and creativity as a handbook for all the youth workers.
During the project participants found some information about competences and competency models of youth and youth workers. They had a chance to work on Key Competences connected with Youthpass (European Commision) as well as on European Portfolio for youth workers and youth leaders (Council of Europe). They also created new competency model which fits their own experiences and standpoints.
One of the competences mentioned in all three models, was creativity. That’s why participans had a chance to learn how to develop creativity in their own work and in activities of young people (also by using specific tools, such as: brainstorming, synectics or circept). They discovered how does mechanism of creation works and saw this process from different points of view (including design art and improvisation theatre).
We started also creating our handbook for youth workers which will be based on the results of our work during the project. Editing of this publication will be continued by W.O.W participants and other intrested youth workers via internet on www.sensustricto.org.
This project was taking part in a test phase of Youthpass, so in the end every participant got his/her own Youthpass Certificate.
