Compatibility Mode, Strasbourg

In the period from 5th to 12th of November in Strasbourg, France was led a multinational exchange organized by “Club de Strasbourg” together with municipalities, partners of the club (Arad, Bratislava, Bucharest, Kosice, Ljubljana, Lodz, Maribor, Olomouc, Ploiesti, Plovdiv, Poznan, Stara Zagora, Strasbourg, Tallinn, Timisoara, Warsaw).

During the whole meeting there were open sessions and various presentations, as well as plenary sessions, focused on the idea of diversity, group creation, motivation, inclusion of the young people in the social life of the different towns.
Besides the young people had a lot of fun, different simulation games and a chance to taste other cultures ant the intercultural night, where more than 60 people presented typical food, drinks, dances of their countries.

The participants also had the opportunity to visit the Council of Europe and the European Parliament, where again they were met by representatives from these institutions (Ljudmila Novak, Michael Ingledow, Ralf- Rene Weingarther, Michael Raphael). At the City Hall the young people had a meeting with the Mayor of Strasbourg- Ms Fabienne Keller.

The activities included in the program reflected the organizers’ desire to focus the attention on the topics as new ways of participation. On the other hand, the participants preferred to discus problems connected with local self-governance, the common youth strategy and view, the revised European charter for youth participation in the local and regional life as well as the follow up activities.
A Draft Declaration on Youth participation was prepared and presented by the young people. It will be further discussed in further until it’s finally adoption by the Young activists and the Club Strasbourg.
