Today's Manneken Pis Action In Brussels

The European Bureau for conscientious objection joined on 9^th January a public action in the Centre of Brussels to demand the release of political prisoners for peace. For Mother Earth - a Belgium based NGO from Gent - has dressed the famous Belgian landmark "Manneken Pis" in a traditional prisoner costume, to draw attention to pacifists and conscientious objectors in many countries of the world. read more »

Support for Krichim

During the week from 19^th to 23^rd December YSPDB and the National Student Association ‘Paisiy Hilendarski’ provided support to families in the region of the town of Krichim which have students regularly going to school and economically disadvantaged students from the Agricultural university of Plovdiv. This action was carried out with the support of the fund for ‘Social aid’ under the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. In the frame of the project a total of 400 packages were handed out, from which 200 for families from Krichim and 200 for economically disadvantaged students from the Agricultural University in Plovdiv.

European Youth Week

The State agency of Youth and Sports organized a youth seminar in the frame of the European Youth Week. More then hundred representatives of Youth NGOs met in Sofia and discussed different youth topics.

The European Youth Forum and the National Youth Council of Russia organized three parallel youth events. YSPDB took a part in two of them – National Youth Policies and Mobility.

On behalf of EBCO YSPDB organized study visit to Nizhniy Novgorod

On behalf of EBCO Sarah Araya and Vesselin Iliev visited the Russian town Nizhni Novgorod. The aim of the visit was to receive more information about the situation of CO in Russia and to meet different organizations working in Nizhni Novgorod.

Two seminars in Moscow in December

Representatives from YSPDB will take part in the two parallel seminars on Mobility of young people in Europe and Partnership in national youth policy - Role of Youth NGOs. It is organized by the European Youth Forum at the occasion of the broader “Youth event” co-organised by the European Youth Forum (YFJ) and the National Youth Council of Russia (NYCR) in Moscow on December 1^st - 4^th, 2005.

EYCA Meeting

As a member of Euro26 Foundation - Bulgaria, YSPDB was invited to participate in the annual meeting of European Youth Card Association in Limassol - Cyprus.
