Ahead of the European Parliament elections and the renewal of the European Commission in 2009, the European Youth Forum (YFJ) is convening a debate with its Member Organisations on 15-17 May in Brussels to define its priorities regarding a new youth agenda for the EU and future EU youth policy.

On 21 April 2008, five Members of the European Parliament, tabled a written declaration (33/2008) calling on the European Commission to take young people into account when developing policies that affect them, and to ensure that the main policy areas that affect young people are taken up in the dialogue between youth organisations and the European institutions.
